
The Tour de l'Abitibi Desjardins is a stage cycle race contested in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, an area located in northwestern Québec (Canada) and reserved to racers aged 17 and 18. Sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI), the Tour de l'Abitibi Desjardins is an international road racing competition in the Men’s Junior category. It is the only competition of that scope in America and the most important Junior competition because of the sporting challenge to be met by cyclists seeking professional status. The event stages a breathtaking performance with a group of some 160 racers.
The 45th edition of the Tour de l’Abitibi will take place in Rouyn-Noranda next July 15 to 23 with start/finish points planned in different locations in the region. The program will be available next spring.
15th edition of the Tour de la Relève Desjardins
Also presented concurrently over two days, the Tour de la Relève Desjardins is intended for 6 to 16 year-old cyclists and constitutes the last stage of the Coupe du Québec Apogée.
